Inhalt:
Merton K. Kibble, Hypochonder und tollpatschiger Erfolgsautor abenteuerlicher Fortsetzungsromane, schifft sich mit seinem Assistenten "Skip" Owens auf einem Luxusliner nach Puerto Rico ein. Während der Schiffsreise verliebt er sich in die attraktive Tänzerin Tallulah Winters, die mit ihrer Truppe ebenfalls nach Puerto Rico reist. Tallulah glaubt, im Auftrag der amerikanischen Regierung eine neuartige Magnetmine zu transportieren, ist jedoch Opfer eines Täuschungsmanövers, das japanische Agenten ersonnen haben - ausgerechnet nach einer Idee, die sie aus einem von Mertons Romanen geklaut haben. Bald verdächtigt Merton sie selbst der Spionage.
